La Hume Beach

The La Hume Beach is a must-see during your stay in Gujan-Mestras!

In the heart of the tourist district of La Hume, and just a stone’s throw from the marina, this beach prides itself on being family friendly.

Bordered by tamarisks and pine trees, the beach offers a breath-taking panoramic view of the Arcachon Bay.

Experience the range of activities on offer, all to the rhythm of the tides: swimming, relaxing on the sand, walking and more. You can also take advantage of the various facilities at your disposal: playgrounds, picnic areas, refreshment bar, paddle rental, etc.

The beach is supervised in July and August from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, allowing children and adults to swim in complete safety.

The La Hume beach has held the ‘Level 2 Handiplage’ label since 2008, and offers people with reduced mobility the following facilities and services:

• reserved parking space
• ramp from the car park to the bathing area
• provision of a ‘Tiralo’ beach chair, allowing you to travel on the sand and bathe in the water
• disabled toilets within 100 metres of the beach
• accessible shower with flexible hose
• assistance for people with reduced mobility: ‘Handiplagiste’ beach attendant in July and August
